PSY353H5 Lecture 2: Brain Anatomy Part 1
Document Summary
Slide 3: cingulate gyrus, can only access through the middle. Slide 12: by 25 days of gestation you already have neural tube. Slide 14: won"t be tested on the metencephalon or myelencephalon. Slide 16: very stereotypic behaviour, most rats are really good moms. Identifying mate: attracting mate, having sex with the mate, production, produced your offspring, rearing offspring, engage with offspring potentially throughout life, peer to peer interaction. Interactions you have with others that aren"t about sex or about offspring: might be fighting with another male rat. Slide 17: brain regions don"t work in isolation. Slide 18: recognized that there were 6 limbic brain regions that kept coming up in studies about brain regions that control behaviour, she postulated that they are talking to each other. If a male rat interacts with a female rate, he should engage in sex behaviour. If a male rate interacts with another male rate, he most likely will behave in an aggressive way.
