Fear is a reaction to a real threat. Particular type of anxiety that are called phobias. Height cannot hurt you but having the fear of falling is a real threat. Sleeping on the second floor is height but people are not usually scared until they are hovering at a balcony. Common anxieties: speaking in front of a class, thinking about the future.
