Document Summary
What is anxiety : three components, physiological, behavioural. Normally thought of as a negative emotion & something we don"t want : but it is needed so that we can prioritize tasks that"s the reason we have emotions * Anxiety is an unpleasant emotional state ranging from mild unease to intense fear. A certain amount of anxiety, however, is normal and serves to improve performance: emotions and motivations are linked to each other, emotions around an exam will motivate you to study. If you are anxious about a test, you would study harder for it. It gears you up to face a threatening situation. It makes you study harder for that exam, and keeps you on your toes when you"re making a speech. Disorders around anxiety are the most common psychopathologies. Public speaking is the most common anxiety, number two is getting old. Too much emotion is a bad thing that"s abnormal.
