Implicity, our non verbal behaviour, makes up the majority of ways in which things are communicated. It is a complicated process with many diferent open channels for message transmission. A lot of imes there can be be misunderstandings through texts, emails bc we lack non-verbal cues: which is why we have emoicons and abbrev. This is to provide more informaion in the message we are trying to communicate: much of this process is automaic as we were never taught how to communicate. Cultures difer in the degree to which communicaion relies on explicit verbal informaion vs. implicit nonverbal cues. Leads to much shared informaion that guides behaviour. People are very well aware of these norms. Bc people share a certain large body of informaion.
