Document Summary
We study about the self and how we create our identity by interacting with others. It explains why we have tribes, countries, different cultures, religion, cults, etc. Attributions are how we attribute someone"s behavior or their cause of behaviour are attributed to; these are often automatic. Attributions are unconscious behaviours and it"s generic in social perception errors. We have a built-in procedures for interpreting data around us. We don"t consciously realize what we pay attention and what we don"t; or thinking about why someone does something. Attributions can be internal (attributing to an individual and who the person is) or external (attributing to something inside the person) Stable = one time thing, instable = change based on situational factors. Ex: getting a test back and being happy that you got a good mark, but the person next to you failed it.
