The regime tortured one of the leaders for the facebook password of the april 6th page (the torture victim didn"t know the facebook password: this shows how clueless the regime really was. The egypt revolution got inspired and learned from the serbian leader popovic who was in the otpor meaning resistance movement. While in serbia, they specifically leaned how to host peaceful/non-violent protests. On the first day of the revolution, the activists didn"t know how many people would show up. On the first day, many people were beaten and arrested including ahmed akbar (he was beaten in the beginning of the video: because of the violence that happened, they named the first day the day of. The mubarak regime as a result shut off the internet which showed the desperation of the regime and how effectively the activists were using social media sites.
