Lecture 10 - democracy in the arab world & the arab spring. Format: two essay-style questions, part 1: select 1 out of 2 questions. This will be an informal essay (no thesis or arguments: part 2: the second part will be a mandatory question that is cumulative. It will be very different than the one that was on the midterm. It will ask you to defend an argument (essay/thesis): focus studying on the first, non-cumulative question. The second question is not based on memorizing details, but on how well you can develop and support an argument. When studying for the second question, think about the broader themes of the whole course overall: both questions are weighted equally (each 50 points each), the time limit is 2 hours.
