FSC239Y5 Lecture Notes - Lecture 2: Forensic Anthropology, Blood Residue, Photogrammetry
Document Summary
Use of three dimensional technologies that assist with the documentation, analysis, reconstruction and visualization of evidence. Reconstruction is based on available physical evidence and can be used for analysis or substantive purposes. A recreation is mostly a creative work, (although it may be based in part on physical data), t may rely on witness testimony or other non physical sources of data. Can put together a whole footprint from impressions. Show similarities and differences from the mark and the reconstruction. Uses a laser scanner to map out locations of the bloodstains. Camera scans how light deforms and identifies something that causes that. Structured dots use infrared cameras with infrared projector and a color camera that colors the data and tracks position. Takes a collection of photos and software can collect information and create a 3d model. Uses light to measure time to go to and from something. Throws out sound and measures time to get back.
