Viscerocranium: orbits, nasal cavities, oral cavity, auditory. Le fort fractures le fort i: fracture of the maxillae only le fort ii, fracture along the zygomatici-maxillae region, and the nasal frontal region le fort iii, fracture along the zygomatic-frontal and nasal-frontal regions. Bones of neurocranium form around the brain: frontal, sphenoid, parietals temporals, occipital. Pterion is the most fragile aspect of the neurocranium: area near sphenoid, parietals and temporal bones. Bone fractures can cause supra and sub meningeal hemorrhages which push into the rain and affect it. Hinge fractures fractures across the base of the skull causing it to hinge" (base of cranium) Compartments of the inner cranium anterior cranial fossa: frontal bone, frontal lobe. Middle cranial fossa: sphenoid temporal temporal lobe. Posterior cranial fossa: occipital, occipital lobe. Arterial vasculature of the scalp arises from external carotid: posterior auricular, occipital artery, superficial temporal artery arises from ophthalmic artery, supratrochlear, supraorbital.
