Document Summary

Core is made of iron ; inner core temperature and pressure is high therefore no liquid iron only solid ; outer core liquid iron because persurre is less. Coninental (under the coninent ) oceanic (under the sea loor) Lithosphere breaks into large fragment called plates(it breaks because heat are pushed from the asthenosphere, so they break so make room for the new material) and they loat on the asthenosphere. Plates move around and interact with each other the plates can be oceanic, coninental and both. Isostasy: the equilibrium that exists between parts of the earth"s crust, which behaves as if it consists of blocks loaing on the underlying mantle, rising if material is removed and sinking if material is deposited. Plate loats depending on their density and thickness. Less dense material loats and more dense material soaks. As coninent crust are less dense they are above the sea-level vis-versa.
