Brain goes into alpha state, the alpha brainwaves add images and visuals - break from reality. Right side of brain = alpha state (tv) Brain goes into a comatose-like state when watching tv (eyes open) and the only other time it is a coma-like state is when you are sleeping (eyes close) Left side of brain = beta state (reading) Attentive and alert (able to respond more quickly)
