Default judgement - rendered when a party fails to do something (ie. someone didn"t show up to court) It is common for multiple for of damages to be rewarded/issued. Actual damages - losses suffered; monetary value can be set for the damages (ie. bodily, property etc. ) Compensatory damages - replacement costs (ie. car replacement costs) Punitive damages - making an example out of somebody; discourage a particular form of behaviour (ie. copyright) Statutory damages - set up in law already; if convicted, a guideline is already provided for damages.
