Document Summary
Tangible computing reduces the idea of a separation between virtual and physical. Dourish (2001): style of interactions concerns not simply the set of physical devices, but also ways in which the computer fits into our environment and our lives. In the virtual reality approach, interactions takes place in a fictional, computer generated world; the user moves into that world through engagement or playing. The world of interaction is the world of the computer. The ubiquitous computing approach to interaction physical virtuality" and eventually augmented reality does just the opposite. It moves the computer into the real world. The site of interaction is the world of the user, not that of the system. Dataglove: glove augmented with sensors that report the position and orientation of the hand and fingers to a computer. Interacting with the virtual is translated into interacting with the physical.
