Document Summary

Paradox by plato: in order to become older than oneself, one must become younger than oneself: one thing cannot become different from one another if it is already different. If you"re 22, you can"t essentially be 23 since you"re going to become 23: what"s becoming older than itself it is also necessarily becoming younger than itself. Becoming older or younger refers to immortality: film takes that and has the ability to make it into a joke, in the three stooges adults look like children, yet they as children look like adults. The original film takes one period in time (1938) and immortalizes it, the 2012 film has them looking very interchangeable despite over half a decade of difference. Fake shemp: using one actor to stand in for another that is missing: done in order to give a sense of continuity into the film"s ending.
