Gender relates to the economy through owning private property. Private property = things that allow for production. Private property controls production and is majorly owned by men. Women can only produce for the household; domestic production. Sacks argues: the current economic system organizes work at home to be woman"s work (child care, cleaning, cooking, unpaid labour). Women moved into the work force but men did not move into the family care sector. The double shift ; paid waged labour and unpaid domestic labour.
