ANT210H5 Lecture Notes - Lecture 16: Making Money, Kensington Runestone, Blackboard
Document Summary
Some vikings got lost and made their way to minnesota. There is no historical records of this. But people got excited by this so they named them the vikings. People do leave a record when they go somewhere, they"d leave some stuff. They is supposedly one piece of evidence. Kensington runestone found by olaf ohman, so if it"s a hoax, he"s too blame. (rune= script used to mark their special places by vikings) On the runestone they wrote a story, and they usually don"t write a lot. Not surprisingly, olaf ohman was a big runestone fan. The people wanted to remove a tree out of the way, and once they removed it they discovered the runestone underneath. There was no cameras back then, so no photographic/video evidence. Alice beck rehoe wrote a book the kensington runestone and she said if this was true then they would find evidence of somethings left behind atleast.
