Document Summary

The ways that we do things or the ways that we change in order to continue living. This has to do with how we transitioned from hunting-gathering to what we do today. These classifications have to do with the way that societies subsist / survive: Hunting-gathering, horticulture (the most basic form of agriculture), intensive agriculture (like horticulture but much more complex), pastoralism (refers to animal herding and the products of their herds), industrial food production. The way that we survive affects every aspect of our lives, i. e. religion, politics, the way that we see ourselves. Ecology and economics both have the root word eco. Eco comes from the greek word for house. Ecology is the study of the house in a grand sense, our world, the earth is our very large home. Economics refers to the principles for how societies provide for its needs. Definitely read the articles from this week!! Lee article deals a lot with reciprocity in relationships.
