As vehicles become more and more efficient, they need more and more lubricating oil prevents friction and thus saves fuel and reduces gas emissions. the manufacturer"s specifications. The synthetic oils 5w30 and 5w40 are suitable for recent engines. if your vehicle is equipped with a particulate filter, you must use 5w30. semi-synthetic oils, such as 10w40, offer a good level of protection. Mineral oils, such as 15w40, are thicker and are suitable for older engines or those which have many kilometres.
