The winter after the 1st world war = prolific events in europe. Students invited weber to explain to them , people look for prophets are sermons in hard times. Weber didn"t like professors giving sermons to tell people what to do. He explained in his sermon what should not be done, he gave two speeches one on science and one on politics. Role of science and meaning of science. Weber says science and politics took place of religion. Religion legitimized true order of the world now its science legitimizing true order of nature, religion, politics, morals. The wealth of nations adam smith invisible hand in economics gets people to act a certain way. After several centuries scientists admitted true order of life in society cannot be found. Discovery of true religion, true morals or true taste was discovered to be impossible.
