Example: women pay more a haircut than a man. If you"re a young black man, your more likely to be pulled over than a white man. They investigate and challenge commonly held assumptions: when referring to a nurse, we assume it"s a woman, not a male. Nursing is seen as a female job, its seen as less important, it is seen as feminine activity. If a male goes into a female activity, we see something wrong with the male.
