Curiosity & critical thinking are important with what we see, read, hear. Don"t be so quick to pass judgement, learn more from others. Some differences in lifestyles are just matters of convention - chinese associate the number 4 with bad luck but it is 13 in canada. Most people in canada kiss in public, most people in china kiss in private. Other differences in lifestyles are more profound - much or little clothing, many or little children, different religious belief, liking different music / food. Although we are the same creatures biologically, humans have created strikingly different ideas about what is pleasurable/not, right/wrong, etc. It is shared from person to person from generation to generation. It is a bridge to the past and a guide for the future: we have a tendency to view our culture as something universal which causes culture shock: Personal disorientation the comes from encountering an unfamiliar way of life. (when moving within social environments)
