Based on content up to this point and videos. Researcher only uses a brief set of points to introduce topics. Researcher has a list of sides or topics to be covered. Interviewees are free to reply in any way they choose. Questions can be asked out of order. New questions may be devised and asked on the spot. Qualitative interviews compared to structures interviews (surveys) Greater interest in the interviewee"s experience, perspectives and concerns. May address topics introduced by the interviewee. Interviewee is often interviewed more than once. Essential questions that concern the central focus of the study. Follow up questions (elaborate on the answer) Throw away questions (which are not relevant to the study but used to set pace or change the focus of the interview) There is no standard length for interviews. They vary from being short to longer. Several minutes vs. several hours or days.
