Huge gap between specialists and people who know nothing: disconnect. Putting your faith into a health expert. make decisions based on what they have seen and done in the past. can see this in the anti-vaccine movement. For example parents not wanting to vaccinate their children because of autism. Moving toward encoded knowledge: conveys signs and symbols of the discipline. These are the articles, books, and guidelines of medicine. Personal experiences can undermine our confidence in the expert knowledge"s. )t"s like smoking a cigarette, you know it"s linked to cancer but you smoke it anyway.
