Document Summary

Research in anthro, social psych have to look at social forces not just psychological. Human behaviour stems as much from social conditioning as much as satisfying biological needs. Younger analysts are less constrained by psychoanalysis and start to drift away from this and personality becomes more dominant. Initially rather poor student and had to strive to overcome for these weaknesses. Human behaviour is determined largely by social forces. Individual psychology: social interest: innate potential to cooperate with other people, to achieve both personal and societal goals, develops in infancy through learning experiences. Inferiority feelings motivating force: we are helpless and dependent as children and need to overcome this weakness, feelings of superiority towards your weaknesses. Inferiority complex: if you"re met by pampering or rejection you start to overcompensate with abnormal behaviours. You"re not able to overcompensate for these feelings. Psychology of women: no biological reason for women feeling inferior to men.
