Alzheimers that are aggressive towards other elders: not considered abuse. Victims are more likely to be victimized earlier on. Most victims are isolated from friends or family. Medical condition make them isolated, harder to get around. Depending on someone else for care - they could be burdened, feel stressed and lash out on elder. Ageism, stereotype of older people (can"t imagine that someone old can be sexually abused) Some have problem with this because elders by law are capable of making own decision which you could interfere with that. Some may end up in nursing home which they don"t want. 3 levels of prevention adapted from public health: primary: aims to keep abuse from ever happening.
