Ethnic groups respond to caring for their seniors differently. Filial piety: respect, obedience and care for parents and elderly family members. Chinese children are expected to fulfill their parents" expectations and take care of them as they age. 1/4 family members helping seniors in care facility reported their health was affected. Work-family conflict: stress when work and family demands are mutually incompatible so that meeting demands of one makes it hard to meet those of the other. Men use for work while women tend to use it for calling family. Family responsibilities hinder performance at work feel guilty if going to work while child is sick. Reduction in quality of work life if struggles to meet demands at work because of family.
