Professor felt as though the textbook chapter was like taking a trip to the zoo in order to observe sexual minorities from a clinical distance. The chapter itself does not answer why we have this chapter and why we need it. We need it because it deviates from the sexual norm. We describe a lot of the things in the chapter as pathological, but on what basis is something diagnosable, clinical, or pathological in itself. You have to take a three hour sadomascicim course before you are let into the club in order to de ne these properties. Criteria of what is good and what is bad sexual behaviour. This is subjective and can be determined by being physically or socially harmful: religious rules can determine sexual behaviour. There is sex positive and sex negative versions of christianity and other religions. Also not a good criteria because religious interpretation is subjective: consent: pretty standard, concatenation: listing criteria in the dsm5.
