In our society, the reproductive system and sexuality system are very important. Using words that we have for genitals as insults. Genitals are not dirty, but urine and fecal matter is. We are taught at such a young age that we have (cid:498)private parts(cid:499) and not using (cid:498)boys have a penis, girls don"t(cid:499) can be demeaning to girls. Children being raised under the assumption (cid:498)it is a pee-pee(cid:499) question why their parents didn"t use the correct terminology. Gender identity can be an issue when discussing (cid:498)boys have a penis, girls have a vagina(cid:499) Children learn through play and if they are not taught from their parents: urethra, vagina, clitoris, labia minora are all within the vulva. Mods, labia majora form the vulva they will learn on their own. Correct terms when teaching children about genitals. What to think and what to feel through language. Makes it a matter of fact and neutral.
