Boys and girls have equally high career aspirations somewhat mediated by ses with a larger impact of females. 65% of part-time employees are female (remaining 45% being men) which means less pay and less advancement stay at home mom is a legitimate career but has no vacation time, benefits, job security, pay, or retirement savings. Women"s career goals are expected to incorporate childrearing. Time-blind when a working parent resents their spouse and children for demanding time, including women in high prestige or demanding jobs. High school students have similar career aspirations across ethnic groups.
