Libido: psychic energy that comes from a biological energy. (innate) Conservation of energy principle applies: you cannot destroy or create energy but you can transform it: mind operates on a closed energy principle. The drives to self-presevation, love, etc: death instinct (thanatos) Repetition compulsion: repeatedly doing things that are bad for you. Biological in nature. (these are the minds energies. )
