None of us would be here without sex, regardless of your attitude towards it. 1950s: sex of any kind (even implied) was banned from tv. 1960s: sexual revolution did little to change the perception of sex in the media, despite the fact that people"s views were becoming much more liberal. 1990s to today: much of the media encourages artists to provide clean versions of songs that remove sex and vulgar terms: the notion is that mentioning sex will be detrimental to some listeners. Active in the 1940s; discovered that there was absolutely no research on sex. Asked to do a guest lecture on human sexuality. Published the kinsey report; two prominent books: sexual behaviour in the human male, and then one on the human female. He discovered that 50% of men had extramarital affairs. Also discovered that male motivation for sex is much higher than that for women.
