Seems to be an increase in relationship satisfaction. Developmental psychology: bowlby was the seminal researcher who studied child attachment to caregivers, evolutionarily, an infant has the best chance of surviving by being close to its mother. Nature vs nurture: the child can summon the mother by voicing its distress. Bo(cid:449)l(cid:271)(cid:455)"s theor(cid:455) of atta(cid:272)h(cid:373)e(cid:374)t: although all children develop an attachment to the caregiver, there are individual differences in the level of attachment. Some children are easier to care for then others. The caregiver is a secure place to allow the child to explore the world: anxious attachment. The caregiver is an unreliable source of comfort. Sometimes the caregiver is there sometimes they are not: avoidant attachment.
