Psychopharmacology: the study of how drugs affect the nervous system and behavior. Drugs are the chemical compouds administered to bring about some desired change in the body and brain. Psychoactive drugs: substances that alter mood, though or bahaviour, used to manage neuropsychological illness and can be abused. Drug routes into the nervous system: route of administration is how the drug enters the body to the nervous system, drugs ingested through the mouth are easy to take but have a complicated track. Drugs in liquid form are more easily absorbed my the stomach and small intestine liing than those that are of solid form and whether a drig is a base or an acid will also affect the absorbtion.
