The brain consumes a lot of glucose, especially when it"s working on tasks. Brains with high iq will consume less glucose when working on the same task than brains with low iq because the brain is working more efficiently and straining less. When doing iq tasks, the frontal lobes activate. Fluent intelligence causes the frontal lobes to activate even more than any other part of the brain.
