Action potential: a neural impulse; a brief electrical charge that travels down an axon. Threshold: the level of stimulation required to trigger a neural impulse system. Neuron: a nerve cell; basic building blocks of the nervous: transmit messages when stimulated by signals, or trigger generated by chemical signals from neighboring neurons, all or nothing response must meet threshold or no reaction.
