Document Summary
We are now in a day in age where we have the neuropsychological perspective where we look at the brain, the genes that give rise to certain disorders. We must then even look at environmental factors that might trigger the gene. We must also find out what are the triggers. Neurochemistry is like structuralism where you look at the genes, atoms, nucleotides ect. We are reducing things to their individual parts, genes. You need an environmental trigger to turn the gene on. Can"t really understand something without looking at its individual parts now (neuro). The big issue in psychology is the nature-nuture question. Biology and environment affect the biopsychosocial levels of analysis. You must look at everything and to fully understand, you need to look at all. Sor says its okay to talk about mental events because we are now able to measure them. Behavior and mental processes are all influenced by biopsychosocial levels.
