Oikeiosis (this is the foundation of stoic community, the brotherhood of men ) Freedom wisdom (wisdom, rather than material conditions, set us free from our passions) This oikeiosis, which is a proposal of natural law, is the predecessor of the declaration and notion of universal human rights. Do we have corrupt institutions because we have corrupt minds, or do we have corrupt minds because we have corrupt institutions. Stoics: the cure is ridding oneself of passions, social bonds, anything worth living for.
