Problem with justice is consistency in giving to each receiver what belongs to them. If the just man gives to his friends what is good for them, he himself must judge what is good for his friends. Practice of justice must be an art comparable to medicine. Being good for the body vs good for the soul. Cannot be justice unless philosophers rule- justice = to a philosophy. Just man will help just men rather than his friends and harm no-one . Justice may also be identified with patriotism. Citizens of the just city should live with their feelings of affections to those around them. Justice is the full dedication to the common good. Not good to harm anyone- justice never harmful. Argues that justice is the advantage of the stronger. Each regime lays down the laws with the view to it"s own presevation and well-being. Rulers make laws to their own advantage.
