Thesis: the world has a beginning in time and is also limited in terms of space, supporters: spinoza, descartes, leibniz. Antithesis: the world has no beginning and no limits in terms of space, the world is infinite in terms of both time and space, material, scepticism, empirical, understanding. Thesis: every composite substance in the world is made up of simple parts, nothing anywhere exists except the simple, or what is made up of those simple material. Antithesis: no composite thing in the world is made up of simple parts, nowhere in the world do simple parts exist. Deals with spontaneity, causality and relation (modality) Deals with necessity necessary being or not. Thesis: there belongs to the world (either as its part or as its cause), a being is absolutely necessary. Antithesis: an absolutely necessary being does not exist in the world, it doesn"t exist outside of this world as a cause either.
