The study of cells may provide insight into disease and its amelioration as well as insight into the regeneration of diseased or damaged organs. Research on human embryos helps to produce more effective reproductive technologies like in-vitro fertilization. In canada it is under strict conditions, to destroy embryos in the context of research on stem cells. These are the questions that raise from the moral standing of human embryos. Sagan and singer (human embryo has no moral standing) Logical consequences: the idea that each embryo is a distinct individual with a rational nature is flawed since an embryo does not currently possess the ability to reason. Because of this, we can use human embryos for scientific and medical purposes. Extra info the starting point of this argument is embryos have the potential to develop into a full being i. e. individual that clearly possesses moral standing. That is why we have direct obligations to them.
