Fallacy: is the use of invalid or otherwise faulty reasoning for the construction of an argument. Red herring: is a fallacy in which an irrelevant topic is presented in order to divert attention from the original issue. Fallacy of the equivocation: occurs when an equivocal word or phrase makes an unsound argument appear sound. Some of the traditional fallacious arguments have premises that fail to be relevant to the conclusion. Others have premises that are relevant but fall short of making an adequate case for the conclusion. No one has ever demonstrated that it doesn"t exist: appeal to inappropriate authority: occurs when a person of authority, or credibility, is cited but there authority is in another field. People who are on welfare are on the program because they are generally too lazy to work: appeal to popular attitudes and emotions: popular attitudes that may affect someone based on their ethnicity, religion, nationality, social group etc
