Basically, w/o informed consent of the patient, intervention is assault and battery. A mental status assessment is done on: all patients, starts typically as inferred exam (only go in depth if something triggers you to believe something is wrong), and becomes a full exam prn (including mental health hx and moca). Hygiene (appropriate for their environment and job) Affect (are the monotonous/no variation when speaking) Content (of their focus fixated on anything?) It affects the sympathetic nervous system, so it can increase bp and hr (which can lead to misdiagnosis of hypertension). Neuropathic pain and visceral pain and other types of pain are all treated differently. Headaches are typical primary (tension, migraine, or cluster) or secondary (result of sinus infection or fever), but can be a symptoms of other conditions, especially is sudden and severe! Often scale used from 1-10 with an individual.
