Look at methodology and what is being measured: efficiency, fairness, etc. Gender, racial equality?: over incarceration=negative side effects. Solidary confinement: crime and gender is corrupted, harper govt belives in neo-liberalism, privatization, profit is key, spike in use of segregation of prisoners. Legislative vs executive: bill c10 still in effect. La(cid:449) has(cid:374)"t (cid:272)ha(cid:374)ged yet: police are catching the criminals- they are doing their job. If little people were in jail- question of whether police are doing their job right: prison industrial complex. Downside of high incarceration: marginalization, high cost, cost to keep 1 person in prison- 100,000$, cost more for youth, disability, women, and mental problem, overcrowd.
