Fetus unable to swallow and luid accumulates (anencephaly) Fluid is swallowed but not absorbed due to congenital obstrucion of fetal upper intesinal tract: oligohydramnios: reduced volume of amnioic luid. Fetal kidneys failed to develop and no urine is formed. Congenital obstrucion of urethra does not allow urine to form amnionic luid. Hormones produced by endocrine glands by her placenta. Maintains the pregnancy and sustains the fetus: nausea & vomiing during early pregnancy. Usually subsides by the end of the irst trimester. Excessive vomiing, more prolonged and severe than normal.
