Comprehensiveness: all necessary health services, including hospitals, physicians and surgical dentists must be insured. Universality: all insured residents entitled to the same level of healthcare. Portability: a resident that moves to a di erent province or territory is still entitled to the coverage from their home province during a minimum waiting period. Also applies to people who leave the country. Accessibility: all insured people have reasonable access to healthcare facilities. All physicians, hospitals, etc, must be provided reasonable compensation for the services they provide. Factors that combine together to a ect the health of individuals and communities. The social and economic environment, the physical environment, and the person"s individual characteristics and behaviours.
