HIS 2130 Lecture Notes - Lecture 10: Times New Roman
Document Summary
You will be asked to carefully select two (2) primary sources that represent the perspectives of two different stakeholders in an event. In a 3-5 page paper (in 12 pt. font, double-spaced, 1 inch margins, times new roman) you will analyze the sources (i. e. purpose, significance, audience, bias). You may consider using sources that you will use for your research paper. Analyzing multiple primary sources engages students in inquiry-based, active learning that requires them to generate their own knowledge. The inclusion of multiple sources also reminds students that they cannot depend on any single source for reliable knowledge as multiple sources need to be consulted in order to develop historical understanding. *please note: you do not have to use sub-headings. This section should briefly introduce the historical event that relates to your two sources. No more than two short paragraphs; focus on identifying the event and its significance.
