Nationalism becomes important and becomes a mass movement, and becomes the key element of the modern experience. The ever deepening nation state/ the industrial revolution/ new imperialism. The nation state was politically centralized from above, to facilitate industrial growth, and this also ends up informing new imperialism of the 19th century and the first part of the 20th is about consulating the state. The state is a construction to exploit intenation markets.
