Document Summary

Place the idea of place is a social construction. World views: ways of intellectualize and philosophize about the world around us. Foundation of all world views are religious. Religion is the first way that people began to explain rationality. Absence of scientific data made way for religious explanations. Religious symbolism is always apparent in society, in all subjects. Religion will always be there, it"s just in the background. Understanding our world comes with pluralism (understanding the same thing in multiple ways) Sometimes world views don"t matter, sometimes they matter a lot: it just depends on the context and the situation. Values are virtually unconscious for us because it is most likely something that we have always done/believed in, we"ve grown up knowing the same values/ believing the same deity. Only when we meet people with oppositional world views, we can start to consider why we believe what we do, it allows for interpretation.
