Models for heterosexuality for men = free flow and direction of desire: direction of male desire is outward until constrained by women. Gives unhealthy models of sexuality and desire. Sets up expectations for women and men. We constantly face negative messages about our sexuality and we feel like we"re doing something wrong: mumblecore movies: Has a put-together woman (kind, beautiful, has lots of friends) whose romantic partner is a slacker who is not very nice to woman he"s involved with. Criticism: man is not respectful to women, yet somehow ends up with a very emotionally mature woman. Ex: homer and marge from the simpsons, peter and lois from family.
