Supercrip: someone who is disabled but does something really spectacular, despite their disability. When we focus on individual stories, we ignore the way in which society ignores disabled people. The metaphor of the mountain: the mountain is a common thing used in inspirational messages. He says the top of the mountain is where people with privilege live. In the reading he described the time he tried to climb a mountain and was unable. Politics of pity: belittling or dehumanizing disabled people. Having a boyfriend is a perfectly human thing but because we dehumanize them, we se it as incredible when they get one.
